Eastaway, a subsidiary of the X-Press Feeders Group, has made a commitment to its long-term green strategy.

The strategy, which is in line with IMO 2030, focuses on lowering emissions through a long-term fleet rejuvenation and the purchase of lower emission new build vessels.

In 2021, Eastaway has signed for 5 x 3100 TEU Newbuilds with Zhoushan Changhong Shipyard as well as 8 x 7000 TEU newbuilds with Shanghai Waigaogqiao Shipyard. All of which will reduce Eastaway’s fleet fuel consumption and Greenhouse Gas emissions by 30-40%.

“A greener future for shipping can no longer only be discussed, it must be put into action. Eastaway’s long term fleet renewal, through the purchase of newbuilds and adjustments to our current fleet, re-iterates our commitment to the IMO 2030 goals.”
